If you’re a ghostwriter, chances are clients have asked to see your portfolio before hiring you for a project.

But what exactly should your ghostwriter portfolio include?

And how can you make it stand out to attract potential clients?

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Most ghostwriters have NDA’s protecting them from providing samples of the projects they have collaborated on. Without compromising the trust of your past or future clients, you have to find a work around.

I like to duplicate my work in a private portfolio. For example, I will have sample of a edited version of chapter one of a clients memoir. With the client identity withheld and the title removed, I can share this sample as requested.

As a pro tip, if you want to showcase your past client work in your portfolio, get written permission from that client. It’s also good to include contributor blog post in your portfolio or eBooks' that you have published as a point of reference.
