When I first began my ghostwriting career, I was an amateur novice writer.
Like many people, I searched the internet on how to make money ghostwriting full-time.
But what I found was mostly the same regurgitated advice — build a portfolio, network, and have good writing skills.
While these are all important factors, they weren’t enough to fully prepare me for the challenges of being a ghostwriter.
It wasn’t until I gained experience and had honest conversations with other ghostwriters that I received the best advice that helped shape my success in this field.
The best advice I never received as a ghostwriter?
Fail as much as early possible to become a great ghostwriter.
But the more I thought about it, the more it clicked.
As a ghostwriter, you are constantly working with different clients and writing for various industries.
When I first heard this advice, it didn’t make sense to me.
Why would I want to intentionally fail?
