Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a successful ghostwriter?

It’s not just about writing skills and creativity.

When I first began my ghostwriting career, I was an amateur novice writer.

Like many people, I searched the internet on how to make money ghostwriting full-time.

But what I found was mostly the same regurgitated advice — build a portfolio, network, and have good writing skills.

While these are all important factors, they weren’t enough to fully prepare me for the challenges of being a ghostwriter.

It wasn’t until I gained experience and had honest conversations with other ghostwriters that I received the best advice that helped shape my success in this field.

The best advice I never received as a ghostwriter?

Fail as much as early possible to become a great ghostwriter.

But the more I thought about it, the more it clicked.

As a ghostwriter, you are constantly working with different clients and writing for various industries.

When I first heard this advice, it didn’t make sense to me.

Why would I want to intentionally fail?
