The Biggest Mistake I Made As A Ghostwriter Writing A Clients Book
As a ghostwriter, I have had the privilege of working on various writing projects for clients from all walks of life.
From blog posts to e-books, my job is to take someone else’s ideas and turn them into written content.
And while this career path has been incredibly rewarding in many ways, it hasn’t been without its challenges.
One particular mistake stands out to me as the biggest one I made as a ghostwriter.
It was early on in my career when I was still building my portfolio and trying to establish myself in the industry. I was approached by a client who needed help with writing their self-help book.
They had a clear outline and vision for the book, but they struggled with putting their thoughts into words.
Excited at the opportunity to work on a book project, I eagerly accepted and dove into the writing process.
However, as I wrote and edited the book, I found myself getting caught up in trying to make it sound like my own writing instead of staying true to the client’s voice.
I wanted to impress them with my skills and make the book stand out among others in its genre.
